They have basically the same physics object as the chair wheel, in that they are actually just a circle that rolls about. I then detect how long the weed has been in contact with the ground, and then make it jump after a semi-random amount of time. As always, the disgusting flesh-devouring player death animation was the most fun part.
I also added a few new tiles to the desert scrapyard set this week, including rusty gantries. Soon there will be some eerie maze-like levels where you are surrounded by mountains of sand-blasted industrial junk.
I’m also cramming levels with secrets to discover if you venture from the obvious path. It will definitely pay to explore in this game:
Finally, there is nothing more satisfying than a jetpack-powered wheelchair (I use the jetpack for quickly getting places for testing). You won’t get it till near the end of the game, and you only have a limited time in the air before it has to recharge, preventing it from being too over-powered:
